Book Review

Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda Book

This book is indeed one of the best books I have ever read .each page if you read quietly and enthusiastically then you get all your answers to all the questions. Updating the status on Facebook or WhatsApp is indeed the total waste of your precious time. Watching movies or playing mind disturbing games on computer won't do any good. Instead one should read such wonderful books. I recommend this book especially to the youth of this country who are forgetting the spiritual path. I am also a teenager and I see a lot of my friends and classmates doing total waste of time on mobile phones. When I actually started reading the book I was not able to put it down. If parents are reading my review than I should recommend you that get this collection for your child. If this collection is out of stock on flip kart then you can buy it from the site of the Advaita ashram. For the packaging and delivery, flip kart I thank you you were the best, it was so much deeply packaged that not a single thing got damaged. Once a person asked the great BUDDHA that have u seen god then BUDDHA replied I have not realized who I am then how can I know GOD. It was before Buddha attained enlightenment. This is the only thing with us we have not even known actually are we then how can we know GOD. This book gives you such answers if you read it deeply from the supreme death of heart and mind. If I talk about this great person Swami Vivekananda he is truly a spiritual guide to us. He teaches us who we are, why are we here, where we would go after death, how to attain MOKSHA. Actually, all the creatures in this world are trying to attain moksha directly or indirectly. We should think that we have got birth in this wonderful place India. In the next birth where will, our fate takes us we do not know. So use all the paths that take you to moksha. And such paths will be found in this country only. Think that this is the most precious gift you have got that you have taken birth in India and try by all means to attain moksha. Indeed this book is your starting point towards moksha. So I recommend this book to all the people of India. Be spiritual. Attain moksha. Sorry for a long one but just helping people out there. --jay mistry Jul 9, 2014

Go For It Mere Mortals are we, what to say about him and his electrifying words........more than a century has passed since he left his mortal frame and still one can always see his ever-increasing influence on the world. "I cannot touch these sayings of his, scattered as they are through the pages of books at thirty years' distance, without receiving a thrill through my body like an electric shock." This is what Nobel Laureate Romain Rolland has once said about Swami Vivekananda's writings. So true right? My suggestion: If you truly want to know what is Swami Vivekananda, first read the works o --Bharath Dwarakanath Mar 24, 2013

Author of Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda Book

Swami Vivekananda was an influential Indian figure who played a key role in reviving Hinduism in modern-day India and introducing it to the rest of the world. Some of his books include Bhakti Yoga, Raja Yoga, Karma Yoga, The East, And The West, Pearls Of Wisdom, Jnana Yoga, My India, The India Eternal, Practical Vedanta, and the poem Kali The Mother. He also wrote many poems and songs. His writing was philosophical, lucid, and infused with humor. His writings adhered to his belief that language written or spoken must be simple and easy to understand. Swami Vivekananda was born Narendranath Dutta on January 12, 1863. Narendra s personality and thinking reflected his mother s religious temperament and his father s rationality. He was initially home-schooled and later attended the Metropolitan Institute of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar. In 1879, he passed the entrance examination from Presidency College, Calcutta (now Kolkata). He earned a Fine Arts degree in 1881, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1884. Swami Vivekananda was interested in a variety of subjects including philosophy, religion, social sciences, arts, and literature. He was the chief disciple of saint Ramakrishna of Dakshineshwar and established the Ramakrishna Mission and the Ramakrishna Math. He played a vital role in introducing the Indian philosophies of Yoga and Vedanta to the world. He eventually became a wandering monk and toured the Indian subcontinent, exploring and understanding its conditions. In 1893, he represented India at The Parliament of World Religions in Chicago and gave a rousing, memorable speech. He died on July 4, 1902, while he was meditating.
